Sharing By Doing
Families Out Loud relies on a growing team of volunteers. These fantastic helpers all have one thing in common: they believe in our mission to support families of drug and alcohol users in Wiltshire. Our shining volunteers are everything.

So many ways to get involved ...
Volunteer Makers create beautiful handmade items such as bags, cards, knitwear, home accessories and much more. These are sold at craft markets and online to raise funds for our cause. We're always on the look out for new items for our stalls throughout the year. If you would like to donate your crafts and other well-made goods to us, please do get in touch.
Volunteer Helpers join us on craft market stalls to help with set-up, displaying the stock and selling an array of locally made products. By talking to customers about the work we do, they help to raise our profile in communities across Wiltshire. Volunteers also deliver flyers to community centres, doctors’ surgeries and local businesses.
Volunteer Fundraisers spend time raising money for FOL in a number of ways such as writing grant applications, doing sponsored activities, sourcing raffle prizes and selling raffle tickets.
Volunteer Writers produce stories and articles, and create marketing material for publication on our website and social media pages. Writing from experience, and from the heart, their words show the impact of living with substance abuse in the family.
Volunteer Speakers are invited to community groups, local schools and businesses, GP surgeries or organisations such as the Women’s Institute, to talk about our work. Spreading the word is vital to meeting our aim of reaching more families affected by someone else’s addiction. Our Volunteer Speakers provide a level of incite and detail about the impact of family addiction, and how the charity works with, and supports, people who are affected.
Our Sharing by Doing Volunteer Network is open to anyone with an interest in our charity. There’s something for everyone! If you have a talent for arts and crafts, have a nice smile and like talking to people, have a flair for words or design or have a few hours of spare time, you can join us today.
